SHERIFF SWEARS IN NEW DEPUTY
Sheriff Casey Salisbury swore in Deputy Curtis Smith at a gathering in the sheriff’s office on October 4, 2016. Deputy Smith has been working as an extra help employee working as a Corrections Deputy at the Mason County Jail. Previously, Smith served 8 months as a Reserve Deputy.
A lifelong resident of Mason County, Deputy Smith also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Saint Martin’s University.
Deputy Smith will be assigned to a Field Training Officer until he is confirmed to attend the Basic Law Enforcement Academy at the Criminal Justice Training Center in Burien where he will receive 720 hours of instruction over a 5 month period.
