The Sheriff's Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) consists of nine members of the patrol and detective divisions and two members from other law enforcement agencies within Mason County making this team multi-jurisdictional.
The SWAT members are specially trained and equipped to deal with high risk incidents and emergencies that require a more intensive response than provided by normal patrol resources. The SWAT unit is available for call out as needed. Typical of the incidents where a SWAT response would be needed an armed barricaded subject, a high-risk warrant service or a hostage situation.
The below photos are of SWAT protecting Fire Fighters where an armed individual was inside a burning structure.
