CELEBRATION OF LIFE SCHEDULED FOR RETIRED JAIL CHIEF TOM HAUGEN

Retired Chief of Corrections Tom Haugen passed away unexpectedly on September 18, 2016 from heart-related causes.

A funeral service shall be held Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 1:30pm at the Lewis Funeral Chapel located at 5303 Kitsap Way in Bremerton, Washington.

Chief Haugen retired May 1, 2016 after serving his entire career at the Mason County Jail.  He was also a volunteer in the North Perry Fire Department for 15 years where he served as the assistant chief.

Acting Chief of Corrections Lt. Cindy Kasten said, “Tom Haugen dedicated over 33 years to the Mason County Jail. He influenced many lives over the course of his career, moving through the ranks from line officer to Sergeant and Chief Deputy. He truly cared about the people he worked with, and worked at being a good leader. We are saddened by his death, and we have added him, his family, and his friends to our thoughts and prayers. “
