The Mason County Sheriff's Office

The Mason County Sheriff's Office is a Washington State Accredited, full service Sheriff's Office with 52 Fully Commissioned personnel including the Sheriff, Undersheriff, 2 Chief Criminal Deputies, a Lieutenant, 6 Sergeants Cottesmalland 4 Corporals; 30 Jail personnel including the Jail Chief, a Jail Lieutenant 3 Sergeants and 4 Corporals; 3 Community Service Officers, 1 Animal Control Officer, 2 Jail Food Service Workers, 2 Financial Assistants, and 12 administrative support personnel including a Chief Civil Deputy and a Chief Admin. Mason County, population 60,699, is located near the foothills of the Olympic Mountains and the Olympic National Forest. It is 961 square miles in area with approximately 300 miles of salt water front on South Puget Sound and Hood Canal. There are 200 fresh water lakes. The County Seat, Shelton, is 22 miles northwest of Olympia, the State Capitol. Mason County is a close neighbor to the cities of Olympia and Bremerton. Mason County offers a rich variety of social, cultural, and recreational opportunities for people of all ages. The Olympic National Park, Pacific Ocean Beaches, and the Olympic Mountains are within an hour's drive from Shelton.
